Bannock County Farm Bureau is a volunteer
organization selected by farmers/ranchers
within the county to serve on their
behalf to be aware of legislative and
local decisions which could affect the
quality of life.
A group of individuals are elected by the Bannock County Farm Bureau
members to serve on the board of directors
to collaborate with Idaho Farm Bureau
in their efforts to promote the production
of agriculture and provide benefits
for its members and to serve as their
voice for legislative and regulatory
issues.

The winner of 2010 March Ag Baby is Keenan, a son born to Christopher & Nikkole Garmendia on March 22 at 7:22am weighing 8lbs. Attached photos are of Nikkole, baby Keenan with sister Izabell and Rhonda Barfuss with the Bannock County Women’s Committee.
Other News
Farm Bureau board members met with legislators
at Boise on January 27th and 28th and
discussed issues related to the proposed
increase of the State gas tax and vehicle
registration fees. Members also
met with Idaho Fish and Game to discuss
the proposals by Fish and Game to raise
fees for licenses tags and permits and
proposed new fees suggested by that
agency. Other issues discussed
with legislators included issues associated
with water resources and recharge to
the aquifer. There was considerable
discussion regarding the ongoing problem
with wolves and the depredation of livestock
and game animals associated with the
wolves. Legislators briefed the
group on budget cuts that have been
ordered and how that will impact several
State agencies. The week economy
at the State level and nationally is
of grave concern to everyone.
